3. REFLECTION

Experience
Typography has been one of the most fulfilling and memorable modules I’ve taken. It pushed me to think creatively while paying attention to the technical side of design. Developing a typeface was by far the most challenging yet rewarding task, it demanded patience and attention to detail, but it taught me a lot about perseverance and precision. I also enjoyed working individually, as it gave me the freedom to explore and express my own ideas. The feedback I received along the way was incredibly helpful, allowing me to improve my work step by step. Overall, this module deepened my appreciation for typography and its role in design, making it a truly enriching experience.

Observations
Over the past weeks, I’ve become much more aware of typography in everyday life. I catch myself noticing typefaces on signs, packaging, and ads, analyzing the little details I wouldn’t have paid attention to before. It’s fascinating how even small tweaks can completely change the feel of a design. Seeing how my classmates approached the same tasks with their own unique styles was also inspiring, it showed me just how many perspectives and ideas can come from a single prompt.

Findings
This module taught me that typography is a delicate balance between art and precision. Even subtle changes, like adjusting spacing or size, can make a design much more effective. I’ve also realized how important the design process is, exploring different directions and refining ideas along the way often leads to the best results. Most importantly, I discovered how much I genuinely enjoy working with typography, and I’m excited to continue learning and exploring its endless possibilities.
